Sporting activities anyone can take part in.
Sport for Everyone
Sports Development runs a variety of courses and programmes that any member of the public can take part in.
Every Body Active
Every Body Active 2020 is a lottery funded programme which aims to get people more active, more often, through sport and physical activity.
EBA programmes target the following groups identified by Sport NI:
- Women and girls 14 to 25 years old
- People with a disability (blind and partially sighted, deaf and hard of hearing, wheelchair users and those with a learning disability)
- Those living in areas of high social need
- Sustained participation

Courses
Every Body Active Courses
The following free Zoom courses are currently available for beginners who must be 18 years or over.
Beginner Pilates - fully booked
Monday 5.15pm to 6.15pm, starting 4 January for 12 weeks
Beginner Yoga - fully booked
Tuesday 5.15pm to 6.15pm, starting 5 January for 12 weeks
Stress Release and Relaxation - fully booked
Wednesday 1pm to 2pm, starting 6 January for 12 weeks
Beginner Pilates - fully booked
Wednesday 5.15pm to 6.15pm, starting 13 January for 11 weeks
All courses are taken by Emma Wasson and delivered via Zoom.
All places must be booked by completing the registration form. For fully booked courses, a reserve list will be held and used when a participant drops out or misses two or more classes without a valid reason.
A meeting ID and password will be forwarded by email each week and must not be shared with anyone. Participants must have video mode switched on throughout the class to allow the Instructor to observe technique.
Please have a mat or suitable alternative available for use, wear comfortable clothing and have a water bottle.
Please note this programme is not suitable during pregnancy or for those with a serious long term health condition. Participants should be able to lie on their front, backs and sides, and be able to kneel.’

Elite Athletes
Funding is available to elite athletes from the Ards and North Down borough area through Gold Card membership of the local leisure facilities and grants for Travel and Accommodation.
Gold Card applications are currently being accepted.
Due to Covid-19, grants for travel and accommodation are not currently available.
