Sports Education Courses
The Sports Development Section organises sports educational and training courses for coaches, volunteers and sports clubs in Ards and North Down.
The 2020/2021 Sports Education programme is now open for registrations. As a result of Covid19 guidelines, this year we are restricted to courses that can be delivered online and are therefore offering a limited programme consisting of 4 online courses. Please see course information below to give you an outline and description of the courses included.
To book a place on any of the courses, please download and complete the Leaflet/application form (attached below) before returning it to sportsdevelopment@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk. You will then be contacted regarding any relevant payment in order to confirm your place.

- Sports Development will contact you to arrange payment (Credit Card payments only)
- Fees are non-refundable (unless the course is cancelled).
- Places are available on a first come first served basis, and we can only guarantee your place once we have received your registration form and payment.
- Clubs are limited to 2 places per course unless a situation arises in which courses do not sell out, then additional places may be offered.
- All courses delivered via Zoom and require pre-learning (pre-learning material will be emailed prior to the course start date).

2nd & 4th December 2020, 6:45pm-8:30pm (must attend both dates) | Online Designated Safeguarding Children’s Officers | This course provides Designated Safeguarding Officer’s further understanding to assist in their role of safeguarding children in sport. For coaches, athletes and volunteers with established credibility and authority within the club. |

13 January 2021, 7pm-8:30pm | Online Income Generation | This workshop will focus on how sports clubs can become financially sustainable by generating income from a variety of sources including sponsorship, fundraising and grants/foundations. It will be delivered by sports strategist Geoff Wilson – who works with global sports such as FIFA, UEFA, FIBA, AFC and a part-time lecturer in marketing at Queen’s University Belfast and Chair of Netball Northern Ireland |
