Class for Heroes

Update 20 April

A huge thank you to everyone helped us to raise an incredible £2661 for HeroShield. This will pay for 5322 facevisors for NHS and other healthworkers and frontline staff.

Watch by Clicking Here

Given the popularity of our online classes, we thought we would do something to raise money to help the NHS and other frontline staff during the coronavirus pandemic.

And, we would like you to join us on Thursday 16 April at 6.55pm for a unique 60 minute exercise class and help raise money for HeroShield.

Who are we helping?

If you didn’t already know a Newtownards company has answered the call for PPE for health workers and other frontline staff. In just two weeks the Shnuggle Management Team pulled together a team from across the province to help with design, development, engineering, production and distribution of face visors, with the first 3000 HeroShields shipped out on 3 April.

A minimum target of 100,000 HeroShields has been set and together with your support we would like to help them achieve this and more.

You can read the full HeroShield story at www.heroshield.net

What are we doing?

We’re going to try something we’ve never done before and run a 60 minute class with 10 instructors.

Each instructor will deliver a 6 minute sequence which will hopefully dovetail seamlessly with the instructors before and after them! From leg to core exercises, upper body to pilates and yoga the instructors will take you through a full body workout as well as incorporating the 3 elements of energy, power and flow in one class.

The result should be a wholly enjoyable exercise class that gives everyone a great workout, is fun to do, but most importantly raises money to help those on the coronavirus front line.

How you can help?

Please encourage your friends and family to take part in our online Class for Heroes which will be aired just before 7pm on Thursday 16 April, finishing before 8pm so you can get outside for the weekly applause for the NHS and other frontline workers.

Each Hero Shield costs 50p to make, thanks to the immense generosity of the partners involved.

Donations can be made via HeroShield's JustGiving page:  https://justgiving.com/crowdfunding/facevisors

So we can track how much is raised, when making your donation make sure you put AND Leisure somewhere on the form, either in place of your name, if you want to remain anonymous, or in the message space.

Thank you for your support for this very worthwhile cause which is important to us all.

Stay safe and keep exercising.
